Business English B Level

Overview

This open-enrollment business English course is designed for professionals who need confident English at work. Each Monday evening you join a live 90-minute session with an expert trainer and a small group. You practise the situations you face every day: introducing yourself, writing emails, joining calls and meetings, presenting ideas and networking. Your enrolment includes an ESP module — English for Specific Purposes — where you choose the field that matches your job (finance, HR, engineering, medical, legal and more) and study specialist vocabulary alongside the group lessons.

Topics we cover

  • Professional introductions — who you are, your role and your company
  • Email writing — structure, tone, requests, replies and follow-ups
  • Phone & video calls — clarity, confirmations and polite phrases
  • Meetings — participating, agreeing, clarifying and action points
  • Presenting ideas & updates — structure, signposting and handling questions
  • Negotiating & persuading — polite disagreement and proposals
  • Networking & social English — small talk, events and follow-ups
  • Review & workplace scenarios — your real cases and next steps

Programme — 8 lessons

Lesson 1 — Professional introductions

Introduce yourself and your role confidently. Practise elevator pitches, describing your company and making a strong first impression in English.

Lesson 2 — Email writing

Write clear, professional emails: requests, replies, apologies and follow-ups. Focus on tone, structure and common phrases for international correspondence.

Lesson 3 — Phone & video calls

Handle calls and video meetings with clarity. Practise opening calls, confirming information, dealing with connection issues and closing politely.

Lesson 4 — Meetings

Participate actively in meetings: sharing opinions, agreeing and disagreeing, asking for clarification and summarising action points.

Lesson 5 — Presenting ideas & updates

Structure short presentations and status updates. Use signposting language, visual aids and techniques for handling questions from your audience.

Lesson 6 — Negotiating & persuading

Make proposals and respond to counter-arguments politely. Practise persuasive language without sounding too direct or too passive.

Lesson 7 — Networking & social English

Build rapport at events and in informal work settings. Small talk, introductions to new contacts and professional follow-up messages.

Lesson 8 — Review & workplace scenarios

Bring your own workplace situations. Consolidate course language, receive feedback and plan how to keep improving after the course.
